School Staffing Solutions are recruiting on behalf a SEN school in Liverpool who support young people aged 8-19 years with a range of moderate to severe learning difficulties and who are mostly below age related expectations.

We are seeking an enthusiastic committed professional to join the school as a Teaching Assistant, to support these young people to succeed and acheive in their own way.

About the role:

• Mentoring, supporting and inspiring learners by supporting them with curriculum-based learning in the classroom, on home tuition and outreach and through outdoor activities
• Assist with the preparation of learning material and contributing to the delivery of learning objectives with a strong focus on behavioural management
• Daily reports on learners’ progress and barriers to learning
• Interaction with parents/care givers on a regular basis
• Personal care may be required

Our ideal candidate will:

• Maths and English GCSE grade C/Level 4 or equivalent
• Be committed and passionate about supporting young people with SEND particularly ASC and associated behaviours
• Have at least two years’ experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision
• Ideally have a level 3 TA qualification (desireable)
• Committed to putting the needs of the young people first
• Understanding of safeguarding procedures and policies
• Have experience of PECs, or Makaton (desireable)
